News from Quilter's JEM for the week of 5/1/19
Hello Friends!
Happy May! There's something about that flip of the calendar page that makes me feel like we are practically in summertime - even though here in the upper northwest corner of Minnesota we still have a few weeks to go! But, a girl can dream, especially while contemplating some nice beach-y fabric! Or butterflies. Maybe for it is mermaids. Or succulents. Whatever your magic summer image, we probably have just what you need.
Beach House to the rescue - panel and coordinating bolts!
Aflutter from StudioE - also many beautiful bolts to match!
Sea Goddess from Clothworks - each panel has two of the images. These bolts are also beautiful with Grunges.
Jason Yenter's Succulents are gorgeous, too!
The panels make terrific throw pillows, and you can even make those pillows double-sided!
Two new kits are in the shop - the elegant Spring Hexie Runner, out of Bird Pond,
and Kate Spain's Calypso quilt in her vibrant batiks.
We often have kits and sample quilts that are made from just one line, but it is certainly okay to cross or combine lines (this is quilting, after all, not Ghostbusters!). For example, a charm pack of Best Friends Forever plus some yardage from Sunnyside Up would make a great quilt in classic summer colors!
This week's JEM of the Week is a bundle of five FQs of Primitive Gatherings - usually $15, this week $13.50. These fabrics always call to mind classic quilt blocks like Bear Paw and Union Star - these colors are terrific!
Did you know that many of our shop samples are available for purchase after we sell out of the kits? It's true!
If you purchased a copy of Tula Pink's City Sampler: 100 Modern Quilt Blocks from Quilter's JEM this year, please be sure to page through your copy. Some of the books we received through our distributor had printing errors in the color process (see photo below).
If your book has this, bring it in to exchange it for a fresh copy. These fresh copies are on their way - call ahead to make sure we have them available!

Snowdrop Bag with Alana, May 8, 6-9pm and May 21, 1-4pm.
Scrap Masters with Barb and Jan, 4th Thursday of the month, 6:30-8:30pm (April 25: bring a baggie of spring/floral scraps to swap!). Join us any time!
Coming in June! Sew in Love Block of the Month with Connie and Barb! This class will use Edyta Sitar's new book. Over the course of 12 months you'll meet to share your blocks and get tips and instructions for the next month. Use the fabrics of your choice to create a beautiful quilt! Learn and practice piecing, applique, and paper piecing skills! First meeting is June 20 at 6:30pm. Class will meet each third Thursday of the month.
First Friday with Connie June 7 at 6:30pm, must pre-register!
Coming in JULY! Stella Block with Jennifer Halbur! July 16 & 17, 6-9pm. Save the dates!
