Hello friends! We are in the Rectangles chapter now!

This week we are sewing blocks 16-20. I have some side by side pictures of the first three blocks for you, so you can see how the blocks look in different types and combinations of fabrics. I don't know about you, but I find these little blocks a really fun way to work with value and color and pattern!

Block #16


Block #17 - it's a little tricky keeping these seams straight, and so I do recommend cutting the individual pieces rather than sewing and subcutting long strips.


Block #18 (yes, one of us got the placement a little mixed up...sometimes we just live with little mistakes.)


Block #19 & #20 both give you a chance to see how framing interacts with color and value, using simple exchanges of position with two fabrics.
