News from Quilter's JEM for the week of 4/25/19
Hello Friends!
Exciting new fabrics in the store this week! And quite the international set, too!
From French General and Moda we have the Vive La France wovens - magical wovens that feel like lawns and in fresh red, white, and blues.
From Stof Fabrics of Denmark we have Vilma - fun, funky geometric prints in reds, blacks, and greys.
And, also from Moda, we have Boro wovens, which feel like homespun, and recall some fascinating textile history from Japan.
Boroboro is a style of patchwork that evolved as a way to salvage scraps, especially in the rural Japanese farming classes. You can read more about it through Wikipedia, of course, but also if you Google it you will see many amazing examples. (If you do Google, include "textile" in your search, unless you are also looking for new pop music.)
We have a new ruler: The Clammy! We have the 10" size, and if you've ever wanted to make a clamshell quilt, here is your perfect opportunity!
If you haven't ever wanted to make one, well, look at this one and see if you still feel the same way!
The JEM of the Week is a 5-FQ bundle from the Growing Beautiful line - we have coordinating bolts, and a summer-perfect pattern called Strawberry Rhubarb!

Jelly Roll Rug with Alana, May 4 and May 11, 1-5pm each day or May 27 & 28 from 9am-1pm
Snowdrop Bag with Alana, May 8, 6-9pm and May 21, 1-4pm.
Scrap Masters with Barb and Jan, 4th Thursday of the month, 6:30-8:30pm (April 25: bring a baggie of spring/floral scraps to swap!). Join us any time!
Coming in June! Sew in Love Block of the Month with Connie and Barb! This class will use Edyta Sitar's new book. Over the course of 12 months you'll meet to share your blocks and get tips and instructions for the next month. Use the fabrics of your choice to create a beautiful quilt! Learn and practice piecing, applique, and paper piecing skills! First meeting is June 20 at 6:30pm. Class will meet each third Thursday of the month.
First Friday with Connie June 7 at 6:30pm, must pre-register!
Machine Quilting on Your Home Machine with Lorraine, April 30th 6-9pm
Coming in JULY! Stella Block with Jennifer Halbur! July 16 & 17, 6-9pm. Save the dates!
