Hello Friends!
I have lots of new fabric to tell you about today, but first a reminder that Quilt Minnesota is still in progress, and there is still time to hop!
Second, I wanted to ask you, if you happen to be on Facebook or Instagram today, to look up #JaftexVideoChallenge, scroll down to my daughter Emma's video (about 17 down) for Quilter's JEM, and watch, like, and share her video. I've put a thumbnail below so you can easily identify which one is hers:
I am so proud of her success with the Love, Minnesota pattern she designed for our Quilt MN section, and I know many of you have loved it, too! (Apparently, we can win prizes from Jaftex, one of our favorite fabric companies!)
New in the shop this week:
Arboretum Metallic charm packs - no online photo can do the sparkles on these fabrics justice! This charm pack would make a gorgeous Thanksgiving Table Runner, and we have some stunning coordinating blenders, too!
Northern Light - charm packs and 13 bolts from the collection
Zen Chic Chill - 9 bolts from the collection from the neutral side of the wheel
Deb Strain's Happy Fall - 13 bolts, and layer cakes on the way from the collection and two patterns
Jay Bird Design's Daybreak pattern (and lots more new patterns!). Have you ever made a Jay Bird pattern? Julie's directions are clear and easy to follow - she leads you through a very complex looking design in a way that has you exclaiming how easy it is!
Have you seen MJ Kinman's Birthstone quilt patterns before? We have several of the patterns with fabric bundles kitted up right now. Here's what August's birthstone, Peridot, looks like:
And, if you haven't seen a Peridot stone before, here is what it looks like - isn't it amazing how close the pattern is to capturing this stone's unique sparkle?
Also, I was walking through the shop this morning and noticed that we have 16 different colors of minky, plus lots more cotton, flannel, and Fireside wide backs! When you get those quilts finished, you know where to come for cozy, easy backing!
Classes
The other exciting news is that we are now offering a few classes. To sew together safely, each class is limited to a maximum of 4 people (2 minimum). Any class that has a Group 1, 2, 3, etc means that the instructor is running an additional section. Call 218-399-0159 to register for classes. Classes are filling fast, but we are adding sessions as needed, and you can ask to be put on the waitlist.
First Friday on September 4th from 6:30pm - call to register! Limited spaces!
First Friday on the Second Friday with Connie September 11th from 6:30pm.
Learning to Sew: Adults with Pam
Tuesday, 6:30-9:30pm, August 25.
Project To Be Announced.
Learning to Sew: Kids with Pam - all materials provided with class & kit fee!
Tuesdays, 12:30-3:30, August 25. Class full - call to ask about next session!
Kiss & Make Up Bag with Pam - NEW SESSION! a terrific roll-bag for travel! Our kit has everything you need! This class is two sessions: soon to be scheduled.
Quilting 101 Days and Evenings (8 sessions) are back on the schedule! Beginning August 17 at 1:30 for Daytime, and August 4 at 6:30 for Evening session.
Intro to Curved Piecing with Connie-4 Sessions
begins Wednesday, August 5 at 6:30. Class full. Group Three begins October 7th-call to register.
Not Your Grandmother's Log Cabin - 4 sessions
begins Thursday, August 6 at 6:30pm. Class full. Group 2 begins Thursday, August 13th-call to register.
Back by popular demand...Pincushion Party! Two sessions: Monday, September 14 from 9am-12pm or 6pm-9pm.
Christmas Table Topper is scheduled for Wednesday evenings starting November 4, 11,18, and 25th fro 6:30pm-9:00pm. Kits required. I have included a sneak peak of the table topper.
Bernina Mastery Classes have been scheduled! Call 218-399-0159 to get registered.
