An Air of Spring

The longer, brighter days are more than welcome these days! I find myself itching to get outside and start clearing up flower beds, however, we are not quite that warm, yet! So it's a perfect time for me to finish up some WIPs and clean up my sewing space inside!

Did You Know?

Did you know that high-quality batik uses a tight-weave fabric that lasts for years, with colors that age into a vintage patina. Batiks are very steeped in culture and tradtion of hand-dyed fabric that originated in Indonesia, but also has cultural influences from Africa and India. 

Top Tips for working with Batiks:

• use a size 70 needle for best results
• although Batiks have a wax finish due to the hand-dying process, the more the quilt is used and washed, the fabric softens wonderfully!
